FS Italiane and the National Academy of Santa Cecilia unite for the 2023–24 musical season

Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane is once again supporting the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia for the new 2023–24 symphonic and chamber music season. This renewed partnership between the FS Group, as a founding partner of the Accademia, and the prestigious musical institution not only intensifies a historic bond but also confirms Ferrovie dello Stato’s commitment to enhancing our cultural heritage.

FS Italiane strengthens its collaboration with important figures on the national and international art scene whilst simultaneously promoting mobility with frequent, sustainable and extensive long-haul and regional connections. This is a natural vocation for a company rooted in the social, tourist, economic and cultural fabric of the country for over a century.

The FS Group is at the heart of the country’s mobility system, playing a key role in Italy’s development with a view to integrating infrastructure and various modes of transport. With its Business Plan backed by 200 billion in investments through to 2032, FS aims to provide certainty in executing infrastructure works, favouring multimodal collective transport over private transport, increasing rail freight transport and upping energy autonomy. Still, innovation, digitisation, connectivity and empowering people are the enabling factors for implementing the Plan.

With around 86,000 employees, 10,000 trains per day, some 700 million train and bus passengers per year and over 40 million tonnes of freight annually, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane is a leader in passenger and freight transport by rail. The railway infrastructure extends over 17,000 kilometres, of which more than 1,000 kilometres is dedicated to High Speed/High Capacity services. The Group also operates a road network of around 32,000 kilometres.

The Ferrovie dello Stato’s governance is divided into four business hubs – Infrastructure, Passenger, Logistics and Urban – each consisting of different Group companies. Controlled by the FS Holding, the Hubs are homogeneous in terms of mission and objectives.

In addition to all this, FS Italiane plays a key role in enhancing Italy’s territories, beauty and the best energies in the field of music, art and creativity through the development of the main rail and road routes, the speeding up and modernisation of the network and the management of increasingly integrated transport services, thus contributing to the creation of a modern, digitalised and environmentally-friendly mobility system.
